5 Days to Wheels Up

Here we are only 5 days away from heading to the airport and flying out to Phoenix. As out first real post of the blog I thought I'd let you know a little bit about what we've been doing for the last few months and what are plans for the next couple of weeks are. I encourage you to officially follow the blog. You will get an email every time we update it.

So first a little history. This team was formed in the the Spring of 2011. The team spent the summer putting together their fundraising letters. In September we added three new members, all new students to King's this year. We've spent the school year learning about missions, about sharing our faith, the needs of the San Carlos reservation, and also how to work together as a team. We've prayed together, ate together and goofed off more that just a little.

On April 5 we will fly in to the Phoenix area. We will spend 3 days training, visiting a 200 year old Native American church and working for a day at the Phoenix Rescue Mission. On Easter Sunday we are planning to worship at Mission Community Church and then head out to Globe, where Arizona Reservation Ministries is headquartered. For the next six days we will help ARM build much-needed housing for the residents of the San Carlos Apache Reservation and hold a VBS-style program for kids in each of the reservation neighborhoods.

Keep following for lots more over the next 14 days. Its going to be a wild, wonderful ride.
