Day 4 Report

We started Easter with services at Mission Community Church in Gilbert, AZ. The team had a wonderful time worshipping our risen savior!! After service (and Starbucks) we returned to our hosts for the last few days for lunch and goodbyes. We drove 1 1/2 hours east to the town of Globe, a town struggling to recover from hard economic times. Globe is on the edge of the San Carlos Reservation and will be our home base for the week. We met our host Charlie Lucero and settled in to the church that will be our home. The girls are in rooms with bunkbeds while the guys transformed the sanctuary into a dorm, with 8 chairs and a mattress making a serviceable bed. We had an orientation session with one of the directors of Arizona Reservation Ministries and learned a lot about the problems and pitfalls in ministering on an Apache Reservation. After our evening devotions we were very ready to turn in and prepare for our first day on the rez tomorrow. God bless. Pics to follow.
